Sushanta Mitra
Sushanta K. Mitra received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Waterloo and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Victoria. He is the Associate Vice-President Research at the York University and the Kaneff Professor in Micro & Nanotechnology for Social Innovation. Prior to this, he was the Chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Lassonde School of Engineering, York University. He was one of the founding members of the Canada-India Research Centre of Excellence: IC-IMPACTS where he was appointed as the Associate Scientific Director and also the Theme Lead for the Integrated Water Management. Before joining York University, he was the Assistant Vice-President (Research) and a Professor at the University of Alberta. He led number of pan-Canadian and global initiatives like Bioconversion of Coal within Nano-Bio-Energy Network and Global Integrated Water Management Network. He is actively involved in number of technical societies such as President for Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME) , Chair of Technical Committee for American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and Member for Committee on International Scientific Affairs in American Physical Society (APS). For his contributions in science and engineering, he has been elected the Fellow of ASME, CSME, Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He is a registered Professional Engineer of Ontario and the recipient of the 2015 Engineering Excellence Medal from the PEO and OSPE .

Naga Siva Kumar Gunda
Naga Siva Kumar Gunda received his B.Tech degree with Gold Medal in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India in 2006, his M.Tech degree with Gold Medal in Reliability Engineering in 2008 from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineeering from the University of Alberta in 2014. His research interests involve the application of microfluidics to biomolecules separation.

Parmod Kumar
Parmod Kumar completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with Gold Medal from Lovely Professional University, India in 2013 and his M.E. with Gold Medal in Thermal Engineering in 2015 from Thapar University, India. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee under the supervision of Prof. Arup K. Das (Supervisor) and Prof. Sushanta K. Mitra (Co-Supervisor). His research interests include numerical simulation of two phase flows.

Alakananda Das
Alakananda Das obtained her B.Sc. Degree in Physics from S.A Jaipuria College, University of Calcutta, India, in 2008 and M.Sc Degree in Electronics Science from Acharya Prafulla Chandra College, West Bengal State University, India in 2010. She obtained an M. Tech. Degree in VLSI Design from the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics (2014), University of Calcutta. She has been a guest faculty at affiliated colleges in University of Calcutta and West Bengal State University from 2010 to 2014. In 2015 she was awarded the CSIR Senior Research Fellowship. She is currently a doctoral student at the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, working on Development of Lab-On-Chip Systems with Integrated Optical Detection Capability based on Digital and Continuous-flow Microfluidics. She is pursuing her doctoral research under the supervision of Dr. Anirban Bhattacharyya (Supervisor) and Prof. Sushanta K. Mitra (Joint-Supervisor). Her research interests include III-Nitride materials and devices, microfluidics and development of Lab-On-Chip systems with integrated optical sensing.
